Weekly update 2/10/26

Yesterday at a funeral service I read from 1 Corinthians 15:55-57:

When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.”

“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

It was a great reminder that through all of life’s challenges and tribulations our hope and victory is always Jesus. No power of this world is greater than the completed work of Jesus. No matter where you are spiritually, emotionally, and no matter what you face this week, be encouraged by the victory that is ours through Jesus.

As we look ahead, I encourage you to begin praying for our Associate Pastor Search Team. They will meet for the first time this coming Sunday afternoon. I believe that finding the right man to help pastor our church will be a huge blessing for our congregation. While the search team helps find a man to recommend to the congregation it is ultimately us, the church body, that approves a man to be called as pastor of FBC Peculiar. This is an important responsibility and I encourage you to also pray for your heart and part in this process. The Lord is good and gracious to us. Let us look forward to how he will bless us through this process.

Your partner in the Gospel,

Pastor Nic
