Discussion Questions

Evangelize

  1. In this passage Paul reminds the believers that they were once hostile to God but have now been redeemed by Jesus’ blood. What areas in your life are hard to remember, or believe, that Jesus’ blood is powerful enough to save?
  1. The Gospel teaches us that we can have peace with God. What are the benefits of peace with God? Why is it important that peace with God can only come through Christ?

Establish

  1. Why is it important that we understand Jesus to be both fully God and fully man?
  1. Paul reminds the believers that Christ is the head of the church. What are some ways that we can demonstrate with our lives that we believe Jesus is head of the church?

Equip

  1. This passage reminds us multiple times that Jesus has gone before us into death and resurrection (vs 15,18). What comfort can we find in remembering that we walk a journey that Christ has already walked for us?
  1. How can remembering what we share in common as believers (same God, same salvation, same purpose) make us a better family of God? How do we keep focused on what we share in common through all seasons?

Export

  1. Paul calls himself a minister of the Gospel. What do you see as your role in the family of God and why?
  1. We are called to live so that Christ might be glorified. What do we need to do this week as individuals and as a group to better glorify Christ?

Prayer Focus: Family

  1. Pray that we would be a church family focused on the same saviour.
  2. Pray that we would be a church family reminding each other of shared salvation.
  3. Pray that we would be a church family united in the same purpose.
