There are two ordinances that the Lord gives to his church, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is commanded to be observed regularly, but baptism by its nature only occurs as needed. While we would always hope and pray that through constant Gospel proclamation there would never be a season without people confessing Christ and desire obedience in baptism the reality is that like much of life there are seasons of harvest and seasons that are fallow. We often only know what season we are in through hindsight. These past two weeks, and this coming Sunday, are encouraging as we will see four baptisms over a three week period. This is a great testimony to the faithfulness of God to save and the consistency of our church in proclaiming the Gospel. We encourage you if you have not been baptized or have questions about baptism to find a time to come talk about your next steps in faith.
